Volunteer Requirements for BIC!

Introduction

The Bromley Islamic Centre is seeking dedicated volunteers to join our team. Our volunteers play a crucial role in ensuring that our masjid is a welcoming, safe, and peaceful environment for all worshippers and visitors. If you are passionate about serving the community and upholding the values of our faith, we encourage you to apply.

Volunteer Roles and Responsibilities:

Guidance and Assistance:

Welcome and assist visitors and worshippers as they arrive at the masjid.
Provide directions and guidance to various facilities within the masjid.
Assist individuals with special needs or those unfamiliar with the masjid layout.

Safety and Security:

Monitor the entrances and exits of the masjid to ensure the safety of all attendees.
Be vigilant and report any suspicious activity or safety concerns to the designated authority.
Assist in managing crowd control during peak times and events.

Maintaining a Peaceful Environment:

Promote a respectful and peaceful atmosphere within the masjid.
Address any disruptive behavior calmly and respectfully, escalating issues when necessary.
Ensure that the masjid’s code of conduct is upheld by all attendees.

Commitment:

Must be able to commit to a regular volunteering schedule.
Punctuality and reliability are essential.

Personal Qualities:

Friendly, approachable, and respectful demeanor.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to remain calm under pressure.

Background Check:

All volunteers must undergo a background check as part of the application process. Training:
Volunteers are required to attend an orientation and training session.
Ongoing training may be provided to ensure volunteers are well-equipped to perform their duties.

Age Requirement:

Volunteers must be at least 18 years old.

Dress Code:

Volunteers must adhere to the masjid’s dress code and present themselves in a modest and respectful manner.
