Learn about the proper etiquette and behaviour expected when visiting a mosque, to ensure a respectful and peaceful environment for all worshippers.
We value a sense of community, unity, and respect for all those who visit our mosque. To ensure a harmonious and meaningful experience for everyone, we kindly request that you observe the following mosque etiquette:
Please dress modestly and respectfully when visiting the mosque.
Upon entering the mosque, please remove your shoes. We provide designated shoe racks or shelves for you to store your footwear securely. This practice helps maintain cleanliness and sanctity within the prayer area.
Respect the serenity and focus of those engaged in worship or prayer. Please maintain a calm and quiet atmosphere within the mosque. Avoid loud conversations, using mobile phones, or any other activities that may disturb others.
If you are attending a congregational prayer or a lecture, it is appreciated if you arrive on time. This allows for a smoother flow of activities and helps maintain the spiritual ambiance of the gathering.
Treat the mosque as a sacred space. Be mindful of your actions and conduct yourself in a manner that reflects the values of Islam, such as kindness, humility, and respect towards others. Avoid any behaviour that may disrupt the peaceful environment.
To maintain privacy and preserve the tranquillity of the mosque, please refrain from taking photographs or recording videos without prior permission. Seek permission from the mosque administration if you wish to document any events or activities.
As a courtesy to others, please avoid bringing food or drinks into the main prayer areas. There are usually designated areas where you can enjoy refreshments. It is also essential to dispose of waste responsibly
