Factors which distract us from Allah

As advice for the sake of Allah:

We have to give time in the weekends to the right of Allah and His house as we give it to the right of our family, And Allah is the best and His house is the best as well.

Allah says:

The Day when there will not benefit [anyone] wealth or children

: يَوْمَ لَا يَنفَعُ مَالٌ وَلَا بَنُونَ

(26:88) 

But only one who comes to Allah 

with a sound heart”

: إِلَّا مَنْ أَتَى اللَّهَ بِقَلْبٍ سَلِيمٍ

الشعراء

(26:89)

And Allah says :

Those who remained behind of the bedouins will say to you “Our properties and our families occupied us so ask forgiveness for us” They say with their tongues what is not within their hearts Say “Then who could prevent Allah at all if He intended for you harm or intended for you benefit Rather ever is Allah with what you do Acquainted

: سَيَقُولُ لَكَ الْمُخَلَّفُونَ مِنَ الْأَعْرَابِ شَغَلَتْنَا أَمْوَالُنَا وَأَهْلُونَا فَاسْتَغْفِرْ لَنَا ۚ يَقُولُونَ بِأَلْسِنَتِهِم مَّا لَيْسَ فِي قُلُوبِهِمْ ۚ قُلْ فَمَن يَمْلِكُ لَكُم مِّنَ اللَّهِ شَيْئًا إِنْ أَرَادَ بِكُمْ ضَرًّا أَوْ أَرَادَ بِكُمْ نَفْعًا ۚ بَلْ كَانَ اللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرًا

(48:11)سورة الفتح

Allah says:

Wealth and children are [but] adornment of the worldly life But the enduring good deeds are better to your Lord for reward and better for [one’s] hope

: الْمَالُ وَالْبَنُونَ زِينَةُ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا ۖ وَالْبَاقِيَاتُ الصَّالِحَاتُ خَيْرٌ عِندَ رَبِّكَ ثَوَابًا وَخَيْرٌ أَمَلًا

(18:46)سورة الكهف

أى : المال والبنون زينة يتزين بها الإنسان فى هذه الحياة الدنيا ، ويتباهى بها على غيره . وإنما كانا كذلك ، لأن فى المال – كما يقول القرطبى – جمالا ونفعا ، وفى البنين قوة ودفعا . قال الآلوسى : ” وتقديم المال على البنين – مع كونهم أعز منه عند أكثر الناس لعراقته فيما نيط به من الزينة والإمداد وغير ذلك . .

Wealth and Children as Adornments of This World

That is: Wealth and children are adornments with which a person embellishes themselves in this worldly life and takes pride in before others.

They are considered such because wealth, as Al-Qurtubi states, provides beauty and benefit, while children represent strength and support.

Al-Alusi comments:

“The precedence of wealth over children—despite the fact that children are dearer to most people—is due to the deep-rooted connection of wealth with what it provides in terms of adornment, assistance, and other such benefits.”

And Allah says:

O you who have believed indeed among your wives and your children are enemies to you so beware of them But if you pardon and overlook and forgive – then indeed Allah is Forgiving and Merciful

: يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِنَّ مِنْ أَزْوَاجِكُمْ وَأَوْلَادِكُمْ عَدُوًّا لَّكُمْ فَاحْذَرُوهُمْ ۚ وَإِن تَعْفُوا وَتَصْفَحُوا وَتَغْفِرُوا فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ

(64:14) سورة التغابن

Allah says:

Say [O Muhammad] “If your fathers your sons your brothers your wives your relatives wealth which you have obtained commerce wherein you fear decline and dwellings with which you are pleased are more beloved to you than Allah and His Messenger and jihad in His cause then wait until Allah executes His command And Allah does not guide the defiantly disobedient people”

: قُلْ إِن كَانَ آبَاؤُكُمْ وَأَبْنَاؤُكُمْ وَإِخْوَانُكُمْ وَأَزْوَاجُكُمْ وَعَشِيرَتُكُمْ وَأَمْوَالٌ اقْتَرَفْتُمُوهَا وَتِجَارَةٌ تَخْشَوْنَ كَسَادَهَا وَمَسَاكِنُ تَرْضَوْنَهَا أَحَبَّ إِلَيْكُم مِّنَ اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ وَجِهَادٍ فِي سَبِيلِهِ فَتَرَبَّصُوا حَتَّىٰ يَأْتِيَ اللَّهُ بِأَمْرِهِ ۗ وَاللَّهُ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الْفَاسِقِينَ

(9:24)سورة التوبة
