The importance of the Tafseer

 

لعلم التفسير أهمية بالغة، ذلك لأن القرآن أنزله الله ليتدبره الناس ويفهمونه، وبالفهم تستريح الأنفس للعمل به وتطبيق ما فيه. ولقد أشار الله تعالى إلي أهمية التفسير عند ما دعا إلي تدبر القرآن، فمثلا: يقول سبحانه وتعالى: كتابٌ أَنْزَلْناهُ إِلَيْك مُبارَك لِيَدَّبَّرُوا آياتِهِ ولِيَتَذَكرَ أُولُوا الْأَلْبابِ 

 

 

The science of Quranic interpretation holds immense importance because Allah revealed the Quran for people to reflect upon and understand. Through understanding, hearts find comfort in acting upon its teachings and applying its guidance. Allah Almighty emphasized the significance of interpretation when He called for reflection on the Quran. For example, He says:

 

“A blessed Book We have revealed to you so that they may reflect upon its verses and that those of understanding may be reminded.”

 

(Surah Sad: 29)

 

 

 

أهمية علم أصول التفسير

 

إن الحمد لله، نحمده ونستعينه ونستغفره، وأشهد أن لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له، له الملك وله الحمد، وهو على كل شيء قدير، اللهُمَّ صَلِّ وسلِّم على نبيِّنا محمدٍ، أمَّا بعد:

علم التفسير من أهم العلوم التي ينبغي لطالب العلم العناية بها؛ إذ إن شرف العلم بشرف المعلوم، قال ابن عبدالبر رحمه الله: فأوَّل العلم حفظ كتاب الله عز وجل وتفهُّمه، وكل ما يعين على فهمه فواجبٌ معه.

 

وقال ابن عطية رحمه الله: فلمَّا أردت أن أختار لنفسي، وأنظر في علم أُعِدُّ أنوارَه لظُلَمِ رَمْسي سَبَرتها بالتنويع والتقسيم، وعلمتُ أنَّ شرف العلم على قدر شرف المعلوم، فوجدتُ أَمْتَنَها حبالًا، وأرسخها جبالًا، وأجملها آثارًا، وأسطعَها أنوارًا، عِلْمَ كتاب الله جلَّتْ قدرتُه، وتقدَّسَتْ أسماؤه، الذي لا يأتيه الباطل من بين يديه ولا من خلفه، تنزيل من حكيم حميد، الذي استقلَّ بالسُّنَّة والفرض، ونزل به أمين السماء إلى أمين الأرض، هو العلم الذي جعل للشرع قوامًا، واستعمل سائر المعارف خُدَّامًا… إلى أن قال: قال الله تعالى: ﴿ إِنَّا سَنُلْقِي عَلَيْكَ قَوْلًا ثَقِيلًا ﴾ [المزمل: 5] قال المُفسِّرون: أي علم معانيه والعمل بها؛ ا. هـ.

 

وقال ابن تيمية رحمه الله: قد فتح الله علَيَّ في هذه المرة من معاني القرآن ومن أصول العلم بأشياء كان كثيرٌ من العلماء يتمنَّونَها وندمت على تضييع أكثر أوقاتي في غير معاني القرآن.

 

وتأتي أهمية علم أصول التفسير من حيث الامتثال لأمر الله بتدبُّر القرآن وتفهُّمه، قال تعالى: ﴿ أَفَلَا يَتَدَبَّرُونَ الْقُرْآنَ أَمْ عَلَى قُلُوبٍ أَقْفَالُهَا ﴾ [محمد: 24].

 

إنَّ الطريق للوصول للقول الصحيح في التفسير عند الاختلاف يمنع من التسوُّر على كتاب الله، وتحريف معانيه، ومعرفة حال المتصدي للتفسير، وشروطه، والعلوم التي يحتاج إليها.

 

وفوائد التفسير كثيرة، منها:

تفسير القرآن الكريم من أعظم العلوم وأجَلِّها؛ لأن القرآن كلام الله، وشرف العلم من شرف المعلوم، وترجع أهمية تفسير القرآن إلى ما يلي:

* أن المسلم مأمور بفَهْم القرآن وتدبُّره؛ لقول الله تعالى: ﴿ أَفَلَا يَتَدَبَّرُونَ الْقُرْآنَ ﴾ [النساء: 82]، ويكون التدبُّر بتفسير القرآن وفَهْمه أوَّلًا.

 

* عبادة الله على الشكل الصحيح؛ لأن أعظم أحكام الدين والعِبادات جاءت في القرآن.

 

* زيادة الإيمان تتمُّ من خلال فَهْم القرآن وتفسيره.

 

وصلَّى اللهُ على نبيِّنا محمدٍ، وعلى آله وصَحْبه أجمعين، وسلِّم تسليمًا كثيرًا.

 

 

The Importance of the Science of Tafsir Principles

 

All praise is due to Allah, we praise Him, seek His help, and ask for His forgiveness. I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah alone, with no partner. To Him belongs sovereignty, and to Him belongs praise, and He has power over all things. O Allah, send peace and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad.

 

The science of tafsir (Quranic exegesis) is among the most important disciplines that a seeker of knowledge should focus on, as the honor of a science lies in the honor of its subject matter. Ibn Abd Al-Barr, may Allah have mercy on him, said:

 

“The first obligation in knowledge is the preservation of Allah’s Book and understanding it, and everything that aids in understanding it becomes obligatory as well.”

 

Ibn Atiyyah, may Allah have mercy on him, said:

 

“When I wanted to choose for myself and examine which field of knowledge I should dedicate its light to the darkness of my grave, I evaluated them with analysis and classification. I realized that the nobility of a science depends on the nobility of its subject matter. I found that the strongest foundation, the most enduring structure, the most beautiful trace, and the brightest light is the knowledge of Allah’s Book—exalted is His power and sacred are His names. It is the book to which falsehood cannot come, neither from before it nor from behind it, a revelation from the Wise and Praiseworthy. It is the science that sustains the religion and employs all other knowledge as its servant.” He continued, quoting Allah’s saying:

 

“Indeed, We will cast upon you a heavy word.” [Surah Al-Muzzammil: 5]

 

The scholars of tafsir explained this as meaning the knowledge of its meanings and acting upon them.”

 

Ibn Taymiyyah, may Allah have mercy on him, said:

 

“This time, Allah has opened for me meanings of the Quran and principles of knowledge that many scholars wished for. I regret wasting most of my time on pursuits other than the meanings of the Quran.”

 

The importance of the science of tafsir principles lies in fulfilling Allah’s command to reflect upon and understand the Quran. Allah says:

 

“Then do they not reflect upon the Quran, or are there locks upon their hearts?” [Surah Muhammad: 24]

 

This science provides the correct methodology for reaching accurate interpretations of the Quran in cases of differing opinions. It prevents tampering with Allah’s Book and distorting its meanings. It also clarifies the qualifications of those undertaking tafsir, the conditions they must meet, and the sciences required for this task.

 

Benefits of Tafsir:

 

The science of tafsir is one of the greatest and most noble disciplines because the Quran is the word of Allah, and the honor of a science lies in the honor of its subject matter. The importance of tafsir can be summarized as follows:

 

1.Understanding and reflecting on the Quran:

 

Muslims are commanded to comprehend and ponder the Quran, as Allah says:

 

“Then do they not reflect upon the Quran?” [Surah An-Nisa: 82]

 

This reflection begins with interpreting and understanding its meanings.

 

2.Worshiping Allah correctly:

 

The greatest rulings of the religion and acts of worship are found in the Quran. Understanding its meanings ensures proper adherence to these rulings.

 

3.Strengthening faith:

 

Faith increases through the comprehension and interpretation of the Quran.
